Anu, Father of the Sky: The Myth of Silent Strength
In Sumerian mythology, the highest of the gods is Anu, ruler of the infinite expanse of the heavens. He is the oldest presence in the universe—standing beyond beginning and end, the creator of the sky, and a figure who reigns among the gods in silence.
Anu does not intervene directly; he does not display his power. His strength lies in his quiet presence that envelops all, turning chaos into balance. His domain is as vast as the boundless blue of the sky.
Once, his bold and curious granddaughter Inanna chose to descend into the underworld, beyond the gates that separate worlds.
She wished to explore her own darkness, her fears, and her limits. The gods watched with concern, tried to stop her. But Anu remained silent, watching from the heavens without a word. Because he knows that some trials must be faced alone.
We transformed these talismans into a striking, bold collection with the skilled craftsmanship of artisans from different parts of Turkey. We have incredibly talented gold and diamond craftsmen, and seeing their skills firsthand gave me both courage and inspiration.
To be a father sometimes means only to wait in silence, to let your presence be felt, and to trust that they will find their way back.
In another time, when the destructive force Tiamat—symbol of chaos—rose to plunge the universe into darkness, the gods turned to Anu for guidance.
Yet he did not step onto the battlefield, did not cry out in war.
Anu held the sky like an eternal shield, became a watchful guardian without form.
His silence was the greatest force protecting the order of the universe. For Anu’s role was not to fight—but to make space for action. By holding the heavens firm, he allowed the other gods to shape the world.

Which talisman impacted you the most?
Even today, there are fathers like Anu…
Present without speaking, standing a step behind, yet the strongest pillar in life through their silent strength. The invisible hands that catch you when you fall.
Perhaps this is Anu’s greatest gift to us.
“The spirit of Anu is unmistakably present in the meaning of the scene, even if the seated figure represents Anu himself or a deity acting under him authority.”
As Father’s Day approaches, it is worth remembering this ancient tale: Sometimes the greatest strength is simply being there. A power that brings peace just through its presence.
The Anu Collection is inspired by the Sumerian god of the sky—Anu, A quiet, guiding figure of strength and protection.
A small gift that carries a great meaning. Perhaps the one that says the most.
